June 2025 - We were absolutely delighted to welcome the Oregon Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation (OAITC) to the SAGE Center for our May 30th SCI FRI youth camp! Their visit brought so much energy, enthusiasm, and inspiration as we teamed up to share the importance of agriculture with the next generation.
OAITC’s mission is to enhance agricultural literacy among K–12 students across Oregon—a mission that perfectly aligns with the heart of what we do here at the SAGE Center. They’re dedicated to helping students explore the world of agriculture through hands-on learning, while promoting a strong connection to the environment, sustainability, and the industries that drive growth in our region.
We were thrilled to collaborate with Executive Director Jade Davidson and Education Programs Coordinator Evelyn Tedrick, who brought their passion and expertise straight to our campers! In the days leading up to SCI FRI, Jade and Evelyn had the opportunity to tour the Port of Morrow, Threemile Canyon Farms, and Beef Northwest Feeders. These firsthand experiences gave them an inside look at the innovative and sustainable practices that fuel our region’s agricultural success—insights they will include directly in their state-wide curriculum.
This partnership marks an exciting new chapter of growth between the SAGE Center and OAITC. We’re grateful for their visit, inspired by their work, and excited to continue building our collaboration to empower young learners and celebrate Oregon agriculture in a fun, hands-on way!
Stay tuned for more educational adventures—because when we plant the seeds of curiosity, we grow a future full of knowledge, innovation, and appreciation for the world of agriculture!
